Edward L. "Ted" Williams

Edward L. "Ted" Williams, 79 years, of Morrilton, died 29 September 2010 in Arlington, Virginia. He was attended by his wife, Mollie Williams of Morrilton, Ark.; daughters, Gretchen Likander, Bridget Sproles, Rebecca Morris-Williams. Ted loved working for non-profit institutions including: AETN and Winrock International. With Nobel Prize winner Norman Berlaug, he helped create the World Food Prize. After retiring, Ted poured his energy into the development of Morrilton's Conway County Resource Center, Single Parent Scholarship Fund, Tree City USA, Conway County Care Center and Christian Clinic. Services were held on 2 October in Washington, D.C. and he will be buried in the Duke University Memorial Garden. A memorial service will be held in Morrilton in late November. He is survived by his family as well as sisters: Patricia MacKenzie and Jane Matthews and grandchildren: Allison, Lauren, Kiersten, and Austin Sproles, Brynn and Ava Morris-Williams.
