Mary Katherine Elmore

Mary Katherine Elmore, age 93, left this earth to be with the Lord on October 6, 2010. Born June 19, 1917, to W. R. and Cassie New, she lived, married and raised her family in Lonoke. She was a loyal member of Roberson Baptist Church. She was a nurse for many years, and proudly served as Deputy Sheriff for the Lonoke County Sheriff's Dept. Preceding her in death is her beloved husband, Lee H. Elmore, Sr. and daughters, Erma Elmore and Gertrude Lloyd. She is survived by daughter Karen Elmore Poole and son, L.H. Elmore, Jr. and his wife Shirley. Also surviving, grandchildren, Katherine, Robbie, Angie, Roger, Raymond, Lee Ann, Beth, and Holly, great-grandchildren, Drew, Brittany, Kayla, Kristen, Kody, Dylan, Trevor, and Hunter, and one precious great-great-grandson, Dane Adamson. She was a cherished mother, grandmother and friend and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy is love and we will always remember her. She will be remembered at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke from 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 8.
