CHARLENE McKINZIE, 81, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2010. She was born Feb. 25, 1929, in Noble, Okla., to the late John and Martha Oakley. Charlene was a homemaker who loved crocheting and flower gardening. She was a member of Plainview Baptist Church. Charlene's family was her life and gave her great joy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Douglas McKinzie; daughter, Charlotte Ann McKinzie; sister, Lillian Oakley; granddaughter, Sherri Lynn Jones; and great-great-granddaughter, Faith Opal Berry. Survivors include five children, Doris Mixon (Charles) of Little Rock, Linda Jones (Milton) of Texas, Joyce Lee (G.W.) of Alabama, Bonnie Eilers (Michael) of Benton, and John McKinzie (Darlene) of Sheridan; one brother, John Oakley of North Little Rock; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander (501-455-1067). Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Martin Cemetery.
