Christopher Adam Cornett

Christopher Adam Cornett, aged 29, of New York, New York, died in an accident on Sept. 24, 2010, while on vacation in Mexico with his family. Chris was born in Little Rock on Jan. 28, 1981, to Craig and Cherise Cornett, formerly of Little Rock and now living in Spring, Texas. He attended school in Little Rock at Miss Selma's Schools and Parkview High School. He graduated from Klein High School in Spring, Texas, in 1999. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with honors from the PPA Accounting Program with a Masters Degree in Accounting. After graduation he interned with the Financial Accounting Standards Board in Norwalk, Conn. His professional credits included internships with Price Waterhouse Coopers in New York City and the U. S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. He was employed as an Equity Research Analyst at Credit Suisse in Manhattan until his death. Chris was a certified public accountant and was scheduled to receive credentials as a Chartered Financial Analyst in March 2011. He also served on the Board of the Gina Gibney Dance Company as well as a volunteer for Big Brothers and Habitat for Humanity. A small family service was held for him in Central Park on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, followed by a wake at the Hill Country Barbecue, home of the Texas Exes Alumni group. The wake was sponsored by Credit Suisse and attended by many friends and associates. Christopher is also survived by his sister, Laura Kathleen (Katie) Cornett; his uncle, Jack G. Cornett Jr. and his wife, Becky; aunts, Corliss Harris, Carole Graham and Jill Cornett; and cousins, Brian Cornett, Matt Cornett, Sean Graham and Jimmy Rice.
