W.C. "Dub" Treat

W.C."Dub" Treat went to be with the Lord on Oct. 8, 2010 at his home on Kimbrell Creek. He was born on May 22, 1925, the youngest son of James Carter and Mary (Watts) Treat. W.C. married Mae Kelley on Sept. 25, 1948. They lived in Searcy County all of their lives. W.C. was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed playing dominoes, whittling, and hunting. W.C. taught himself to play the guitar, fiddle, harmonica, and dulcimer. He was a talented wood carver. He even made several fiddles. W.C. Treat attended South Mountain Freewill Baptist Church for many years. W.C. was a wonderful husband, father, and papaw. He loved his family very much. W.C. is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mae (Kelley); his daughter, Betty Barnes and husband Ray, of Marshall; one grandson, Jimmy Barnes and wife Aneilya of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two granddaughters, Susan Smith and husband, Malcolm of Conway, and Jennifer Bixler and husband, Andy of Harrison. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; Noah and Aaron Smith and Ethan and Makayla Bixler. W.C. was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters. Funeral service will be Monday, 2 p.m., Oct. 11, 2010 at Roller Coffman Chapel. Brothers Kenny McDaniel, Joe Dale Williams, and Johnny Rhoda will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Jimmy Barnes, Andy Bixler, Malcolm Smith, Doyle Graham, Davis Graham, and Warren Hill. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Barnes, Danny Graham, Johnny Graham, Henry Treat, Curtis Treat, and Ronnie Manes.
