D.L. Pharis

D.L. Pharis, 85, of Newport passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Little Rock. He was born November 9, 1924 at Poinsett County, the son of Deckard and Martha Pharis. Survivors include sons, Donald Pharis and wife Julie of Maumelle and Billy Pharis and wife Diane of Fayetteville; daughter, Sharon Green and husband David of Medina, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; mother of his children, Etta Faye Ruch; his best friend and companion for many years, Wanda Copeland. Mr. Pharis was preceded in death by his son, Scotty Pharis; and nine brothers and sisters. Funeral: 11 a.m., Thursday at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Pennington Cemetery.
