Alice Ann Martin, 62, of North Little Rock, born to Horton D. and Christine Holland Hurn in Little Rock, Arkansas on February 12, 1948. Our sweet Alice left this world for the next on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 and we are all at a loss. Very rarely is a person so well known for kindness. Many knew Alice best because of a time she had cared for them in her quiet, sensitive way. Never wanting to draw attention to herself, yet teaching us all how to meet the needs of others, apparently she completed her earthly task. She graduated from North Little Rock High School, Southern Business College and was a member of Forty Seven Street Baptist Church since she was four years old. She was employed with Underwriter's Adjusting Company, Triple S Alarm and then Hurn's Superior Alignment. She was married January 25, 1969 to her husband of 42 years, Billy James Martin, Jr. She is also survived by her daughter, Amanda Ann Tracy; son-in-law, Justin Tracy; two grandchildren, Lauren and McKenzie Tracy, all of Hernando, Mississippi; brother, Donald Hurn and wife, Nancy, of Little Rock; mother-in-law, Rita Martin; brother-in-law, Pete Martin and wife, Carol; sister-in-law and family, Angie Flournoy (Scott), Caitlyn and Hayley; nieces, Jennifer and Hannah Hurn; nephews, Benjamin Hurn and Paul Hurn and wife, Holly; special friends, Susan Faith and Mary Edwards and her entire family. Alice was known for saying "toodles" which she explained meant, not goodbye, but see you later. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday at Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
