Billie Joe Owens

Billie Joe Owens Sr., age 88 of Mabelvale, Arkansas died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Woodland Hills Nursing Home. He was born on June 14, 1922 in Greenville, Texas to his parents James A. Owens and Ida Handy Owens. Billie was a Veteran of the United States Navy, a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church and loved his job as a mechanic. Survivors include his wife of six years, Martha Owens; two children, Betty Moore (Larry) and Billy Owens all of Little Rock; two sisters, Maxine Roberson of Hensley and Ida Specht of Cherokee Village and 1 brother Kenneth Owens of Searcy; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sarah Owens and his brother James Owens. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2010 at Pinecrest Memorial Park with Brother David Wilson officiating.
