Maxwell Lee Balch

Maxwell Lee Balch, 20, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away, Sunday, October 10, 2010, in St. Joseph's Medical Center, Towson, Maryland. Max was born in 1990, the son of Natalie Kay Dalecky of Winchester, Virginia and LTC (RET) Donald Lee Balch and Isobel L. Balch of Bryant, Arkansas. He was free spirited; enjoying traveling, promoting music festivals, camping, hiking, and the outdoors. Surviving with his parents; is his maternal grandparents COL (RET) William J. Dalecky and his wife, Elisabeth of Alexandria, Virginia; paternal grandmother, Marion E. Balch of Barnard, Vermont; and great grandfather, Raymond L. Sargent of Bethel, Vermont; brother, James Ivan Balch of Bryant, Arkansas; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ivan S. Balch. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Tim DeLaughter officiating. Inurnment will be private. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
