Teresa Austin Slaton, 56, of Springdale, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born June 20, 1954 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Alvin and Virginia Kisner Austin. Teresa was a Speech Pathologist for 30 years for the Springdale School District. She was active in private speech therapy in the area. She was a member of Robinson Avenue Church o f Christ in Springdale. She was a Girl Scout leader for 24 years. She loved music, her daughters and the Arkansas Razorbacks. She was a mother to many who called her mom. We lost a woman who created life, created inspiration, and created ambition in everyone she encountered. Heaven just became a little more divine. Survivors include two daughters, Becca Slaton Anthony and husband Kyle of Lenexa, Kansas and Sarah Slaton of Denver, Colorado; her mother, Virginia Austin of Springdale; one brother, Lynn Austin of Little Rock. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel with Jimmy Allen officiating. Graveside services will be Monday, October 18, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Pinecrest Cemetery in Alexander, Arkansas. Visitation will be on Friday, October 15, from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home.
