John T. Redd Jr., 81, of Little Rock, died Sunday, October 17, 2010. John was born August 13, 1929 in Palmyra, Missouri, the middle son of John and Geneva Redd. He grew up in Palmyra and moved to Omaha, Nebraska, and later to Little Rock which he has called home since 1963. He was a graduate of Palmyra High School and received a degree in chemistry from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Upon his graduation, John served as a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. John worked for 34 years with the Olin Corporation in a variety of professional positions and retired in 1987. He was an elder of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church in Little Rock for many years and proudly served many years as a volunteer for the American Red Cross in Little Rock. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley Rose Redd; his son, Michael Scott Redd of Clinton, Missouri; daughters, Diana Lee Paul of Cabot, Arkansas, Linda Kay Forziati of Sandwich, Massachusetts and Judith Ann Redd of St. Charles, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church at 6400 Kavanaugh Pl., Little Rock, Ark. 72207, officiated by Dr. Bob Dunaway and Rev. Bill McWeeny. Private family interment will be at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock.
