Leslie Pearl Fisher

Leslie Pearl Fisher, 90, of Alexander, Arkansas, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at home. Pearl was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Burdette, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Elvis Fisher. Pearl is survived by her children, Karen Teatum, Mickey and Clyde (Geri) Fisher, Linda Van Voorhees, and Ethel (Walt) Bowman; grandchildren, Jennifer (Darrell) Wann, Michael (Debra) Fisher, Gary, David and Ben (Bernadette) Fisher, Nicole (Rich) O'Henley, Sundown Ireys, Mark (Kim) and Leslie Fisher, Beth Ernst, Eric (Jillian) and Gretchen Bowman; great grandchildren: Britney Crawford, Rhiannon and Kallon O'Henley, Joshua and Luke Ireys, Ashley, Mark II, and Cecilia Fisher, Garrett, Nathan and Allison Ernst, Mikayla, Ashlyn and Brady Bowman; and siblings Peggy Garbison, Sammie Domino and Wayne Coleman. Education, books and politics were very important to Pearl. Being the wonderful mother she was, she encouraged all her family to seek education and to follow their dreams. In honor of Pearl's ideals, the family is requesting memorial donations in lieu of flowers to the Mabel Boswell Memorial Library, 201 Prickett Rd, Bryant, Ark. 72022. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2010, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander (501-455-1067). Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Little Rock National Cemetery, 2523 Confederate Blvd., Little Rock.
