Betty Lois Brooks-Thomas-Brock, 75, of Little Rock, left to go to her heavenly home on October 25, 2010, after a lengthy bout with cancer. She was born on December 1, 1934, in Sweet Home, Arkansas, to Pete and Clara Brooks. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill Thomas, grandson, Daniel Bumgardner, brother, Pete Brooks Jr., niece, Betty Denise Diemer, and son-in-law, Duane Rinehart. She is survived by her loving husband, caregiver, and soulmate of 5½ years, Earl Brock; sons, Steve Bumgardner (Becky), Billy Thomas (Brenda), and Earl Brock Jr. (Debbie); daughters, Cathy Rinehart and Daryl Bailey; grandchildren, Shasta Griffin (Jason), Lacy Bumgardner, Brady and Bennie Thomas, Edward Rinehart (Janna), Jason Scott Rinehart (Mandy), Mandi Wheeler (Alonzo), and Justin Bailey; great-grandchildren, Erin, Justin and Michael Rinehart, Tommy Fetz, Skylar Majors, Anthony and Alisha Wheeler, and Angel Bailey; siblings, Jean Hutchins (Charles), Donald W. Brooks (Marilyn), Ione Diemer (A.W./Dub), Delores Krisell (Jr.), Judy Martin (Gary); and sister-in-law, Zella Brooks. Betty was a member of the East Union Missionary Baptist Church. She was a graduate of 1952 from Fuller High School, where she was a star basketball player. She retired from Arkla Gas. Betty loved cooking, singing and traveling. The family will be at the Martins at 20212 Forrester Lane in Little Rock. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at East Union Missionary Baptist Church, with Brother Paul Roberts officiating. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Betty's nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at the church.
