Jean Havens Harper, age 85, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born October 21, 1925 in Austin, Minnesota, a daughter of the late John Rowland Havens and Ruth Emily Blocker Havens Gibson. Mrs. Harper worked for Hunts Meat Packing Company and retired from Ryburn and Glover. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Harper was also preceded in death by her husbands, James Edward Ostrander, Robert Conway, Bert Vann and Melvin Harper; one son, Leslie Conway; one great grandson, Joey Temple; one son-in-law, Donald (Hoppy) McDougald; one brother, Earl Havens . Mrs. Harper is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Dee Ostrander of Cassville, Missouri, Patrick and Patricia Conway of Pine Bluff, Johnny and Mary Vann of Hermitage; four daughters and son-in-law, Trisha Childress of Pine Bluff, Sharon McDougald of Hermitage, Melanie and David Wrath of Wesley; Ellen Harrington of Bryant; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Harold Andler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Buie Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Ronald Ostrander, Patrick Conway, David Wrath, Jimmy Temple, Austin Vanover and Danny Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Hickman, Josh Harrington, Dr. Michael C. Tucker and Dr. Mark A. Ramiro, M.D. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
