John H. Graves

John H. Graves, 84 of Thornton, Ark. passed away Monday, October 25, 2010 at his residence. He was born March 20, 1926 in Lawson, Ark. to John Henry Graves and Sula Scroggins Graves. John was a Veteran of WWII, and he served for the 10th Mountain. He was a retired minister of 60 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Bearden. Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers, four sisters and one great grandchild. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Earnestine Beeson Graves of Thornton, Ark. two daughters, Linda Nalls and husband Dennis of Sparkman and Ann Nutt and husband Mike of Hampton; a son, John Mark Graves and wife Vicki of Texarkana; sisters, Opal New of Camden, Sula Mae Majors, of Baytown, Texas, Irene Russell of Monroe, LA and Lois Crocker of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 28, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Bearden with Bro. Mike Nutt officiating. Burial will follow at Moss Cemetery in Bearden under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Wednesday night at the First Baptist Church in Bearden.
