Thomas W. Berry, age 90, of Austin, Arkansas was born March 14, 1920, and died October 28, 2010. He was a farmer, dairyman and carpenter. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served on the Tri-Community Fire Department for over twenty years and received a Lifetime Community Service Award. He was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church for over sixty-nine years and a faithful and dedicated deacon for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.F. and Minnie Berry; two brothers and their wives, Joe and Mildred Berry, Raymond and Ruth Berry and one brother-in-law, Lossie Hicks. Thomas is survived by his wife, Christine of the home; children, Paula Berry (Eric Murray) of Austin, Jim Miles (Patricia) of Little Rock and Chris Glover (Johnnie) of Lonoke; grandchildren, James Berry of Sherwood, Barbara Miles (Hank Bates) of Little Rock, John Miles Glover (Samantha) of Jonesboro, Stephen Miles of Phoenix, Arizona, Erica Murray of Beebe, Emery and Evan Murray of Shirley; great-granddaughters, Elisabeth and Jessica Bates and Madison Glover; one sister, Mary Hicks of Cabot; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Austin, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
