Frances (Fran) Williams Blyth Maus

Frances (Fran) Williams Blyth Maus, of Hot Springs, Arkansas was born on Sept 6, 1923 in Sheridan and graduated from State Teacher's College in Conway. She married COL Charles William (Bill) Blyth, USMC in 1946 and traveled the world from the Philippines to East and West Coast assignments. Following his death, she was married to Louis Craig Maus, whom she followed to Hot Springs in 1989. 1. She was preceded in death by her parents Oliver R and Clara Zinn Williams of Sheridan and both husbands. Fran, a military wife and homemaker, loved dancing and painting, but most of all loved talking to each and every person she met. You may have met her in line at the grocery store! While visiting Fayetteville with her daughter and daughter's date, she was even offered a job as a soft shoe tap dancer at an old diner featuring a piano player playing big band era music. And there wasn't even a dance floor! Survived by her children, Bonnie Blyth (Warren Russell), Virginia; Rando Blyth (Sylvia) South Carolina, Allen Blyth (Lisze Bechtold) California, Cindy Howard, Little Rock, her brother Jimmie Lee Williams, Conway, and grandchildren Collin Russell (Alaska); William, Austin, Beau Blyth, California; and Blyth and Harrison Howard, Little Rock. She is also survived by Warren Maus (Zim Loy), Mickey Maus (Carole), Pam Maus, and Melodye Maus Rogers (Bobby) and Craig Maus' grandchildren and extended family. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov 1, 2010. A time of visitation will follow from 2-2:45 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan and with internment and graveside services at 3 p.m. at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. The services will be conducted by Dr. William (Bud) Reeves. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to First United Methodist Church, 1100 Central Ave, Hot Springs 71901 or PEO (Philanthropic Education Organization) Scholarship Fund, Chapter AP, 124 Moonriver Bay, Hot Springs 71913, which helps local young women achieve their educational goals.
