Daniel Andrew Benton, 27, of Hot Springs died on Oct. 28, 2010 due to injuries sustained from an auto accident. Dan was born on Feb. 12, 1983 to James Dwight and Vickie Lynn Benton in Little Rock, Ark. He was a graduate of the University of the Ozarks where he earned his Bachelors Degree and graduated with honors, he went on to earn his Masters degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in Public History. Dan was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs. He was a member of the Praise Team and very involved with the youth group. He was a very avid reader, loved watching movies with his friends/family and was a true History buff. Dan spent much of his free time volunteering for several Non-Profit organizations within his community. One of Dan's passions was helping people. Dan is survived by his loving parents, Dwight and Vickie Benton of Hot Springs, Ark.; two brothers, Tyler and his wife Veronica Benton and Jeff and his wife Sara Benton; grandmother, Mable Benton; two nieces, Alley Keen and Delanie Benton; one nephew, Tristen Benton; six aunts; five uncles, many beloved cousins and special friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly. A celebration of Dan's life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010 in the Family Life Center Cupp Hall at the First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs with Brother Bud Reeves officiating. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Youth Ministry, The Caring Place, The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, or Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Dan's memory.
