RICHARD FINNIOUS WELLS, 88 of North Little Rock, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010. He was born to the late George Wells and Frances S. Johnson Wells on Nov. 22, 1921 in Little Rock. He retired from Kroger as a meat cutter after 36 years. He was in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was awarded 2 purple hearts and The Bronze Star and The French Croix de Gurre. He is survived by his daughter, Loyette Davis of Mabelvale; a sister-in-law, Dorthy Hartwick of North Little Rock; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Evangeline Wells; four brothers; and three sisters. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Edgewood Memorial Park. A graveside visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. at Edgewood. Special thanks to his granddaughter Tammy for her devoted and loving care shown to her grandfather, and to the Pallative Care Unit and Dr. Robert Lehmberg at V.A. Hospital in Little Rock.
