Steven "Pete" Campbell, 55, of Hot Springs, Ark., died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010. He was born Jan. 9, 1955 in Little Rock, Ark. to Charles Lon and Betty Jo Trantham Campbell. He was of the Methodist faith and was an Executive Vice-President in the trucking industry. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Tony Campbell. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Campbell; brother Ronald Jay Campbell and wife Kelly of Hot Springs; and sister Susie Campbell of Hot Springs along with many treasured aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Pete enjoyed the times he spent with his many nieces and nephews who all referred to him as their "Uncle Pete" including Paul Jackson, Becky Jackson, Wil Glover, Holli Wammack, Brian Jackson, Crystal Jackson, Stephanie Thomas, Taylor Harrison, Sydney Campbell and Kennedy Campbell. Pete was an avid sports enthusiast from horse racing to baggo with his friends and family. He received numerous awards and honors for his sports achievements – from playing football and basketball at Hot Springs High School to wide receiver for Louisiana State University. On Feb. 12, 1994, he married the love of his life, Jane. They enjoyed many years where he was her everything, her "Rock". They enjoyed taking many memorable trips together, but more than that, they enjoyed just being together at home. "Didn't we Pete?" Visitation will be from 2–4 p.m. Sunday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Marble officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery in Alexander, Arkansas. Pallbearers include Randy Morse, Ralph Bradbury, Kim Hooks, Mike Sedder, Larry Jackson, Bob Jackson, Bobby Glover, Kevin Mays and Dallas Leep. Honorary pallbearers include David "Budda" Johnson, Quinten Markland, Randy Day, Donald McDonald, Houston Nutt, Blake Trantham and the 1973 Hot Springs High School Football team and coaches.
