Ricardo Federico Navarro age 49 of Cove, Arkansas died Friday, February 4, 2011 in Cove. He was born on Monday, September 4, 1961 to Federico Navarro and Lorenza Diaz Corral in Tijuana, Baja, Mexico. In high school Rick was a decorated amateur wrestler and was offered many opportunities to continue his wrestling career but decided to enter in to the United States Marines Corp. Rick served in the United States Marines Corp for 8 years, 4 of those years he served as an Electric Equipment Repair Specialist and the other 4 years a Nuclear Biological and Chemical Defense Specialist. His military career is his greatest accomplishment. After the military, Rick worked at Yocana, Arkansas for several years for Kirby Pierce Farms, and then began his next step in his life at Tyson's in Grannis, Arkansas. He worked there for 15 years and enjoyed working in the maintenance department. He also was an outdoorsmen and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid gun and knife collector. Rick was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, VFW and of the Catholic Faith. He is preceded in death by his brother, Hector Navarro. Survivors include his father, Federico Navarro; his mother, Lorenza Corral of Yorba Linda, California; wife Ann Navarro of Conway; two sons, Baulaver Driscoll of Fort Smith and Matthew Navarro of Keiser, Arkansas; one brother, Rigo Navarro of Corona, California; two sisters, Elva Garcia of Perris, California and Alma Aparicio of Yorba Linda, California; uncle, Jose Corral of Goleta, California; aunt, Angelina Navarro; special friends, Jack McAffee of Glasgow, Illinois, Michael Perry of Fort Smith, Stacy Presley of Fort Smith, Deborah Perry, Mary Driscoll and David Perry all of Malvern, Willis Flemings of Grannis, Debbie Ainsworth of Keiser, Arkansas and Opal Collum of Gilmore, Texas; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral Mass will be Friday, February 11, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the St. Agnes Catholic Church with Father Norbert Rappold as celebrant. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 6-8 p.m., with a Rosary Service held at 7 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Service Chapel in Mena. A private burial with Military Honors will take place in the Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service in Mena.
