James Reverlee Hill, 90, of Pearcy, died Saturday June 18, 2011, at his residence. He was born July 31, 1920 in Caddo Gap, Arkansas to the late Durwood & Savannah Hill. James served in the U.S. Army and worked in logging in Colorado in the 50's, was a mechanic for International Harvester and an auto tech with Weisner Chevrolet for 40 + years. He was a Lay Minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and converted to Church of Christ in the 60's. James was a quiet man who loved his church and rarely missed a Sunday. He also loved hunting, fishing and Arkansas Razorback Football. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Alma D. Dillard Hill. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Deborah Hill-McClure & Thomas McClure of Hot Springs, Arkansas; five siblings, Elbert Hill, Thruman Hill, Timothy Hill, Arzo Hill and Bettye Hill Turner all of Portland, Oregon. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday June 26, at Gross Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday June 27, at the funeral home with Bro. Jim Freeman officiating. Burial will be at 12 noon at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by Thaddeus H. Caraway Post 2278, VFW. Arrangements are by Gross Funeral Home.
