Josephine Arbaugh Lowe

Josephine Arbaugh Lowe, born to Rufus C. and Della Cecil Arbaugh on Oct. 6, 1915 in Jasper, Ark., went to hr heavenly home on April 30, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mitchell Lowe and her two sisters, Cecil Louise Arbaugh and Mary Alice Arbaugh. Surviving family includes daughter, Carolyn Lowe Berry and husband, Marion, and daughter, Martha Lowe Cameron and husband, Tom. Grandchildren are Ann Berry Coggin and husband, Jim, Rebecca Cameron Blount and husband, Marvin, Catherine Cameron Beliveau and husband, Emmett and Mitchell Berry and wife, Aimee. Great-grandchildren are James and Caroline Coggin, Eleanor and Martha Blount, Maeve and Agnes Beliveau and Lauren and Mitchell Berry Jr. Josephine attended Arkansas Tech and later worked for Farm Service Agency in Marshall, Ark. On a trip to Gillett with a college friend, she met her husband, Robert, whom she married on Thanksgiving Day in 1938. As an active member of Gillett United Methodist Church, she served her Lord by teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, leading UMY and attending worship. She was active in PTA, Gillett Garden Club and many other community organizations. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was endearingly know as Bawbaw. Her family is thankful for her precious life and grateful to the dedicated caregivers at the DeWitt Nursing Home and Hospital and her personal caregivers Sissy, Opal, Diane, Gladys and Sherry who made her last days comfortable. Visitation will be held at Essex Funeral Home in DeWitt on Tuesday, May 3 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating her life will be held at Gillett United Methodist Church on Wednesday, May 4, at 10 a.m. Memorials may be made to Gillett United Methodist Church, P.O.
