Dan Holman

Dan Holman, 77, of Lonoke, Ark. went to be with the Lord, May 2, 2011. He was a Christian, and attended Lonoke Baptist Church. He was a retired Thoroughbred Horse trainer. Those who knew Dan would say he was a true family man. He devoted his life to his wife and children. He spent much time singing songs, telling jokes and enjoyed being a proud grandparent. He had a knack for making lifelong friends. He had a great love for animals and a passion for horses and racing. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. He had a green thumb and brought life to anything and anyone around him. He was fun hearted, a great storyteller and had the ability to make you laugh. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Holman of 58 years, daughters, Dana Smith (Ron), Sherry Fitzhugh (Carl), Kim Price and Jessica Hughes (Michael); a brother, Steve Holman (Maryann); a sister, Neva Farzar (Paris); seven grandchildren, Chris Beard, Jake Smith, Justin Ort, Mattie Williams, Rachel Smith, Randal Ort and Benton Hughes; eight great grandchildren; and many loved ones which include nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Pat Holman; a daughter, LeAnn Holman, three sisters, Millie Houston, Doris Tracey and Shirley Burroughs and a grandson, Donnie Fitzhugh. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 5th, 2011 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home Chapel, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72117 (501) 835-3515 with Bro.
