Shirley Allen Fisher, age 73, of Alexander went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 2, 2011, at a local hospital. She was born on October 15, 1937 in Camden, Ark. to the late Jonah Granville "Dick" and Helen Walker. She was predeceased by her loving parents; one brother G.A. Walker; and Kenneth Allen, the father of her two sons. Shirley was a graduate of Malvern High School. She was an active member of Village Creek Missionary Baptist Church at Shannon Hills, Ark. She is survived by her loving and caring husband Ron Fisher of Alexandria, two sons, Eddie Everett Allen and wife Joclyn of Manhattan, Montana, and Dale Wayne Allen; of Little Rock; one special brother, Larry Walker and wife Kathi; one sister, Patricia Bingham and husband Melvin of Bismarck; one stepdaughter, Deana Page and spouse Scott; one stepson, Brian Fisher; and one grandson, Jarrett Page all of Benton; numerous beloved nephews, nieces, and cousins. Shirley enjoyed many years of work as a licensed beautician and licensed optician. The most notable person that she styled her hair was the little girl on Sunbeam bread. The most notable persons that she kept fitted with glasses were Chelsea Clinton while Bill Clinton was Governor of Arkansas and her loving husband, Ron Fisher. Shirley loved all of God's nature and enjoyed hunting, fishing and all water sports especially on Lake DeGray, Shirley was the author and writer of four genealogies books all copywrited and registered with the Library of Congress. The books were "Walker's," "Henson's," "Allen's" and "Fisher's." She ended each one with these words, "My wish for each of you, a moment of JOY while you read your history (Roots) book. God Bless each of you real good." Pallbearers will be Bart Walker, Richard Henson, Gary Cooper, Daniel Holsapple, Michael Chastain, and Ferrell Watkins. Honorary pallbearers are Deacons of Village Creek Baptist Church, Dr. Schneider, Dr. McCracken, Dr. Murphy and Frank Holmes. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Atkinson Funeral Home in Malvern. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Pavilion with Bro. Zane Clark officiating with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to her church Village Creek Missionary Baptist Church with mailing address at Mabelvale, Ark. 72103, or Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, % Bill Cordell, 10590 Hwy.9, Malvern, Ark. 72104.
