Charlotte A. "Char" Caverly, age 73, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas went with God's hand to heaven Friday May 6, 2011 from her home after an 18-month battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). She was born June 12, 1938 in Wilmington, Delaware to Charles W. Morris and Eva A. Conaway and was the oldest of four children. She is survived by her mother, Eva A. Karawulan of Wilmington, DE, her two sisters, Eva May Morris of Wilmington, DE and Mary Rebecca Constantini of Ocean View, DE and brother Charles Morris and his wife Barbara of Selbyville, Del., and many nieces and nephews. Char is survived by her husband R. Bruce Caverly of 35 years. They have four boys, six granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. Son Tony Thompson and wife Megan of Orangevale, Calif., granddaughter, Lacy Cantrell and husband Dr. Chris and great-granddaughter June V. Cantrell, granddaughters, Tilly A. Thompson of Ventura, Calif. and Hannah M. Thompson of Orangevale, Calif.; son, Michael J. Thompson of Hot Springs Village, Ark., stepson, Stephen W. Caverly of Anchorage, Alaska and granddaughter, Sarah M. Caverly. Son Rob B. Caverly Jr., and wife Carey and granddaughters, Savanna and Mikaela Caverly of Minneapolis, Minn. Char spent many years as a Medical Assistant in the East Coast and in Alaska. After moving from Alaska to Minnesota in 1983, she retired from the medical field to raise our youngest son Rob. Her husband worked for 3M Company and upon his retirement in 2000, they moved to Hot Springs Village in 2001. She was an avid golfer and belonged to both the Minnesota Woman's Golf Assoc. at Indian Hills Golf Club and the Arkansas Woman's Golf Association and WGA in Hot Springs Village. She was a great homemaker, loved to cook and entertain friends and family, loved doing cross stitching projects, playing Mah Jongg and bridge with her friends and making a variety of arts and craft projects for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader of mystery's and intrigue books and loved to travel. Over the years in Minnesota, she was able to travel to Europe, Asia, Latin America and Canada with Bruce on his international assignments. Char will be greatly missed by her husband, family and her many friends who have helped her on this journey. Local arrangements are by Caruth Village Funeral Home.
