DORIS KINARD BYRD, 96, of North Little Rock, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, May 8, 2011. She was born in El Dorado, AR to the late Lenny and Mamie Prothro Kinard. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommy Byrd; and a sister, Leota Walton. Doris was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and member of Park Hill Baptist Church for many years. Doris was an avid golfer, also a member of North Hills Women's Golf Association. A graduate of Hendrix College, she was a math teacher for the El Dorado School District for a number of years, also a Marketing Specialist for Kroger. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend; she will be missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her son, Jim Byrd and wife, Debbie of Sherwood, Ark.; two grandchildren, Kelly Reddin and husband, Matt and Carmen Lane and husband, Brian; four great-grandchildren, Chloe and Harrison Lane and Mackenzie and Parker Reddin; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 with Reverend Luke Flesher officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Searcy, Ark. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the funeral home.
