Damon C. Roper

Damon C. Roper, 47 of El Dorado, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at his residence. He was born June 26, 1963 in Camden, Ark. Damon was a retired shipping supervisor for International Paper Company in Springhill, La. Preceding him in death are his fathers, James Calvin Roper and Donnie George; and his grandfather, Ferryl Dunn. Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Roper George of Little Rock, Ark.; grandmother, Betty Dunn of Fordyce; daughter, Lacy K. Roper and her fiance' Jamie Stewart of Sarepta, La.; two sons, Chaney Garmany of Camden, Ark., Dirk Garmany and wife Holly of Sarepta, La.; one brother, Dr. Kyle Roper and wife Jane; four grandchildren, Justin and Elleigh Stewart and Kade and Sydni Garmany of Sarepta, La.; nephew, Jordan Roper; niece, Sydney Roper of Hot Springs, Ark.; the love of his new life, Angela K. Sutherlin and her daughter, Anni K. Sutherlin of El Dorado. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011, at First United Methodist Church, Central Ave. in Hot Springs with Dr. William "Bud" Reeves officiating. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Young's Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation, Renal Transplant Program, P.O.
