ABRAHAM WALKER "DUB" COFFIELD, JR., 83, of Little Rock, Ark., died Thursday, May 12, 2011. He was born Aug 9, 1927 in Shawnee, Okla., son of the late Abraham W. Coffield M.D. and Eunice Sutton Coffield. He was preceded in death by his parents and three half siblings, Floyd Coffield, Mary Tackett and Frances Nelson. He is survived by his wife, Daisy L. Holeman Coffield; three children, Don Richard Coffield and wife Cathi of Middletown, N.J., Allyce Ann Coffield Capps and husband Hal of Murray, Kent., and David Walker Coffield of Maumelle, Ark.; and five grandchildren, Emily Rose Coffield, Colin Walker Capps, Lindsey Caitlin Capps, Truett Walker Coffield and Parker David Coffield. He is also survived by two sisters, Irene Coffield Elder and Helen Coffield Burba, both of Tulsa, Okla. Dub served in the Navy during World War Two as a Seabee. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor during the last days of the war with Japan. He attended Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1950, and retired from the University of Arkansas in 1990. He was a member of Parkway Place Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Chapel in West Little Rock. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2011 at Parkway Place Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Greer officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
