Alice Hartman Pickett, 65, of Bigelow, AR left this world Wednesday, May 11th, 2011 at peace. Born November 27th, 1945 in Keiser, WV and raised by Eugene and Martha Hartman, she was happily married to Beal Pickett since 1995. Formerly employed for many years by the Arkansas OCSE, she was an active member of Full Life Family Church where she enjoyed singing and praising our Lord. Alice is survived by her husband Beal, 72, sons, Nathan Harris, 41 (Staci) of Fort Mill, S.C. and James Harris, 39 (Julia) of Bigelow, Ark., step-daughter Sandy Barrett, 40 (Charles) of Panama, Okla., Brother Lewis Paul Hartman Jr. of Hagerstown, Md. and her seven grandchildren. She follows her sister Larita Kapple, of Hagerstown, W.Va. Alice was a mother and friend first, raising her two boys to be successful husbands and fathers. Devoting herself to her friends and family, she was a continuous fountain of love and compassion, always focusing on the positive in everyone. Her kind nature was an inspiration to everyone who knew her, and we were lucky to have had felt the warmth of her light on our faces. The family will receive visitors Thursday 12-2 p.m. followed immediately with funeral services officiated by Pastor Brent Gunther at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home in Little Rock, Ark., 501-224-8300 with graveside services at Wye Mountain Cemetery. A reception will be held at Wye Mountain Baptist Church.
