Betty Marnell Johnson, 76, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Advanced Care Hospital in Searcy. Born March 13, 1935, in Monticello, she was a daughter of Charlie Houston and Henrietta Ross Robinson. Mrs. Johnson was reared and received her early education in Monticello, attending Monticello High School. Betty Marnell Robinson married Olen H. Johnson on March 24, 1951, in Monticello. They moved to Pine Bluff in 1952. Mrs. Johnson was a production worker for Illinois-Eclipse Tool for 23 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Green Meadows Baptist Church, the American Association of Retired Persons, the American Red Cross, and the Pine Bluff Quilt Guild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; one great-grandson, C. J. Bolen. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Olen and Kay Johnson of Pine Bluff; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Patricia and Danny Raiford and Peggy Diane and Rickey Bolen of Pine Bluff; one brother and sister-in-law, Guy D. and June Robinson of Bastrop, Louisiana. She was also known as Mamaw John-John to her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend, Mary McCaskill; sister-in-law, Helen Doolin, both of Pine Bluff, and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Ralph Robinson & Son. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Green Meadows Baptist Church with Brother Randy Festervand officiating.
