Luther (Sonny) Williams, of Cabot, Arkansas went to be with Jesus, Sunday, May 15, 2011 with his family beside him. Sonny was born March 26, 1944 in Mobile, Alabama to Leon and Ethel Williams. Sonny served in the United States Marine Corps during Viet Nam war time. He was employed as an over-the-road truck driver for 35 years, for Burkett Trucking and Land O Frost, as well as the Black and White Cab Company in Little Rock, Arkansas, retiring in 1998. He was an avid pool player, and enjoyed fishing, reading and telling jokes. He had a knack for remembering every joke he had ever heard. Sonny loved life and tried to enjoy each and every day the Lord blessed him with, making many friends along the way with his easy going nature. Sonny was preceded in death by his father, Leon Williams, mother, Ethel Williams Hatfield, his brother, Edward Williams, his sister, Kathleen Williams, and one granddaughter, Katelynn Smith. Sonny leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Carol Williams; his children, Talon, Cole, Cody and Breyann Williams of the home, Shannon of Vilonia, Jeston, Alec, Austin, Tiffany, and Kelly of Cabot, Arkansas, and Tanaya of El Paso, Texas. He also leaves behind, 18 grandchildren, Erin, Wade, Sammie, Landon, Delaney, Klint, Konnor, Paris, Autumn, Trinity, Avi, Bryce, Kaidin, Madilyn, Hunter, Zack, Amber, and Cameran, one sister, Billie Hogan of Conway, Arkansas; two sisters-in-law, Maryann Lay and Susan Chipman, several nieces and nephews, and many longtime friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Sumner Cemetery in Cabot.
