Richard F. "Dick" Hirt, 87, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on May 13, 2011. He was born in Warren, Ohio, to Frederick Peter Hirt and Alice Foley Hirt. Richard graduated from Hobart College with a degree in chemistry, and spent his career as a chemist in paint manufacturing. He worked for Stebbins and Roberts in Little Rock, Burk-Hall in Memphis, and retired from Enmar in Little Rock in 1992. He served as a volunteer counselor for SCORE for nearly twenty years after his retirement, and was also an active church member at Highland Valley UMC. Dick is survived by his wife, Sara Forman Hirt of Little Rock, daughter Tracy Marsh of Bend, Ore., brothers, Philip Hirt of Fayetteville, N.Y., and William Hirt of Hot Springs, Ark., and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Kenneth. He will be greatly missed by the many who loved him. Visitation will be at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501-224-8300) on Thursday, May 19, 4-6 p.m. A memorial service will be at First United Methodist Church of Bryant at 508 N. Reynolds Road in Bryant, on Friday, May 20 at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Highland Valley United Methodist Church.
