H. Guy Jones

Guy Jones of Heber Springs, Ark., formerly of Pine Bluff, Ark., died of a sudden heart attack May 16, in White County Medical Center, Searcy, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Guy Jones and Marie Mathews Jones of Pine Bluff; one sister, Gwyn Bivens of Pine Bluff. Guy is survived by his wife, Pam Proctor Jones, whom he married December 13, 1962; two sons, Guy Paul Jones (Tammy) of Cornerville, Ark. and Bryan Allen Jones of Heber Springs; a sister, Beverly Stone (Lowe) of Fort Smith; a brother, A. Elton Jones (Tommie) of Hot Springs; two granddaughters, Ashton Jones of Sheridan and Autumn Jones of ATU Russellville; two grandsons, Justin Allen Jones of Pine Bluff and James Guy Jones of Cornerville; two step-grandsons, Ronald Weast and Joey Weast both of Cornerville. Guy was a retired railroad engineer, retiring from Union Pacific Railroad in June of 2003, after 34 years of service. He also was a retired Master Electrician having belonged to the International Brotherhood of Electricians for 46 years. He was a Master Mason, a long standing member of Jacob Brump Lodge #160 in Pine Bluff. Guy and Pam moved to Heber Springs, in July of 2006, where he was happiest bird watching from his back porch with his family and anticipating the fall colors on Libby Ridge behind his house. Burial will be in Shady Grove cemetery at Bald Knob, Ark. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced at a later date by Powell Funeral Home of Bald Knob. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
