Bonnell C. Birkhead, Jr.

Bonnell C. Birkhead, Jr., 94, Hot Springs, Arkansas, educator, musician, and avid golfer passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011. Born August 27, 1916 in Arkadelphia, Ark., he was a decorated World War II veteran with degrees from Henderson State University and North Texas State University. He was employed by Arkadelphia Public Schools for six years then the Pulaski County Special School District for twenty. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lurline Birkhead, and two daughters, Nancy Clark and Vada Hopper. Also surviving are grandsons Clay Clark, and Stewart Clark (Jill) and great-granddaughter Audrey. The family would like to express appreciation to Reva Bramlett and Scott O'Rorke, Arkansas Hospice, and Caruth-Hale Funeral Home for the respect, care, help and support each provided during this difficult time.
