Doris Annette Smith

Doris Annette Mills Smith, 90, of Haskell, passed from this life on May 20, 2011. She was born April 20, 1921 in Haskell, Arkansas to Reuben Lee Mills and Thursa Evalyn Allen Mills. Survivors, husband of 71 years, Warren Smith, three daughters, Joyce Newon and husband, Bob of Riverdale, Ga.; Marilyn Black and husband, Gary of Benton, Ark.; Carol Chesser and husband, David of Maumelle, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Janice Smith of Eureka Springs, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Reuben Allen (Jack) Mills; son, Warren Dale Smith and grandchild, Robert David Newton. Doris was a member of the River Street Church of Christ and a beloved member and life long resident of the Haskell community. She was extremely clever with a quick wit and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 2 p.m., Monday with burial to follow at Mt. Harmony Cemetery in Haskell.
