Katie Vanette James of Scott, Arkansas went to be with the Lord May 18th, 2011. She was born on February 19th, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Van and Thelma Randall. Katie is preceded in death by her son Ritchie Vanderford; daughter, Cindy Hartwick; grandson, Kirk McAfee; great granddaughter Ella Grace Busse and a sister, BJ Deathridge. She is survived by her husband Jesse James, Sr.; four sons: Tony James (Debbie) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Randy Vanderford (Terri ) of McRae, Arkansas, Jesse James Jr. (Dawn) of Sherwood, Arkansas and Vaudie McAfee (Wendi) of McRae, Arkansas; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and many loved family members as well as numerous friends. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Scott, Arkansas were she taught Sunday school for 2nd and 3rd graders. She had a great love for the children and teaching them about Jesus. She never met a stranger and always had a smile for everybody. Donations can be made in Katie's name to Grace Baptist Church in Scott or to the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 22nd, 2011 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72117 (501) 835-3515.
