Ruby Dixon

Ruby Lee Stell Dixon, of Morrilton, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011. She was born on March 12, 1925 in Plumerville, Ark.; the first daughter born to C.C. and Eva Oliger Stell. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Edna Faye Gill. She is survived by Vondon Dixon, her beloved husband of 69 years for whom she dutifully cared for over half her life. She is also survived by her two sons, Larry Dixon of Irving, Texas and Don Dixon and wife Eddie of Morrilton. Surviving also are grandchildren Kimberly Dixon of Bentonville, Doug Dixon and wife Aimee and their son Mitch of Magnolia, Whitney Dixon of Morrilton, and one sister Joan McDonald of Edmond, Okla. She was a retired employee of JC Penney's where she worked for over 30 years. She spent the last 50 years of her life caring for her husband whose side she never left. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, a caring mother and grandmother who gave much and never expected anything in returned. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched and remembered for a life lived for others. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Harris Chapel at 10 a.m. with Dr. Bill Brown officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
