Kathleen Jacqueline (Weise) Moore, age 87, of Oklahoma, formerly of Benton, was born on October 30, 1923 in a home outside Benton, Arkansas. She passed from this life to her Christian reward on October 6, 2011. She was the youngest of six children born to Oswald Weise and Manie Langley Weise. She graduated from Harmony Grove School in Haskell, Arkansas. She was very proud of her years playing basketball in high school, often times playing outdoors on a dirt court. She accepted Jesus Christ in her life at an early age and was baptized in Ten Mile Creek (not too far from Benton). In September 1945, she was introduced to a young man named Charles Moore walking down the street in Benton, Arkansas. Charles was only a couple of months removed from a Japanese prison camp where he had been interred for 39 months, since the outbreak of WW II. Charles and Kathleen were married in December, 1945. Their union lasted for 51 years and produced two sons, Carl and Ron, and a daughter, Debbie. Kathleen's life can be summed up as faith, family and friends. She loved her Lord, her family and her church family at Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas where she sang in the choir and was church secretary for many years. She worked outside the home in many jobs, finally retiring as a telephone operator with the General Services Administration in Little Rock. After Charles's death she moved to Oklahoma in 1998 to be close to her family. Kathleen is survived by her son and his wife, Carl & Sharon Moore of Oklahoma City, a daughter, Debbie Moore of Townsend, MA, a grandson and his family, Mark, Holly, Rylen and Layton Moore of Edmond, OK and a granddaughter, Carla Moore of Colorado Springs, Colo. Viewing will be Monday, October 10, 2011 at 9 a.m. followed by services at 10 a.m. at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas. On-line guest book at www.ashbyfuneralhome.com.
