Helen Jones Gamble

Helen Jones Gamble, 85, formerly of North Little Rock, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, in Atlanta, Ga. She touched the lives of many young people through her career as a teacher and social worker from 1949 to the late 1970s. She retired as a social worker from the North Little Rock school district. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernice Gamble Sr., and leaves to cherish her memories three children, Vernice (Arlene) Gamble Jr., of Conley, Ga., Dennis (Angela) Gamble I, of Douglasville, Ga., and Andrea Gamble Coleman, of Los Angeles, Calif.; four grandchildren; sister, Leila Caldwell of Flint, Mich.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. A memorial service will be Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at 10 a.m., at the Airport Church of Christ, with burial to follow in Little Rock National Cemetery at 12 noon.
