Robert Joe Sibley

Robert "Bobby" Joe Sibley, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Eudora, passed away Thursday, Oct. 28, 2011, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock. He was born Jan. 30, 1946, in Lake Village to the late Charles Leon and Eddie Frances Williamson Sibley. He was a truck driver before retirement and he honorably served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Kitty Hawk. He was also a charter member of the Delta Men's Association and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cheryl Hensley Sibley, of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Lane Smith and husband Eric, of Dover, and Karen Sibley, of Batesville; a son, Robert Sibley, of Seymour, Ind.; four brothers, Eddie Leon (Inez) Sibley, Marvin (Carolyn) Sibley, Leroy (Terry) Sibley, all of Eudora, and Thomas (Pat) Sibley, of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Peggy (John Mark) Tietz, of Eudora; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation is 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at Bishop Funeral Home in Lake Village. Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at the Eudora Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village. Memorial may be made to the Delta Men's Association, 104 Portland Road, Eudora, Ark., 71640.
