Clyde "Pa" Leon Goodnight, age 74, of Enola, Ark., went to be with the Lord, on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Greenbrier Nursing and Rehab Center, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. He was born on April 20, 1937 in Enola, Ark. to parents Troy E and Tessie (Casey) Goodnight. He was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Faye Chance, Bobby Gene Goodnight and Jerra Dene Goodnight and an infant daughter, Leisa Faie Goodnight. Leon graduated from Enola High School in 1956 and was retired from Brown and Root Construction Company. He was a member of Enola Church of Christ. He was a teamster, owning and training many fine horses and mules. He loved all types of outdoor activities from plowing the soil to mowing the grass. He enjoyed a pack of hounds, be it trailing or treeing. He took great pleasure in caring for his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In fact, he loved all babies and babies were always drawn to him. He will be forever remembered by his loving wife of 54 years, Christine Louise Chance Goodnight and their children and spouses, Rick and Connie Goodnight, Rusty and Gina Goodnight, Deanna and Tom Taylor and his sister Beverly Ingram and her husband Randy. He leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Amanda (Joey) Pearce, Christin (Shane) Prater, Heather (Chris) Killough, Justin (Gretchen) Goodnight, Cody (Mindy) Goodnight, Troy (Paula) Weatherley and Seth Taylor. He is also survived by his great grandchildren that he loved so dearly, Riley and Dugan Pearce, Alec and Avery Goodnight, Carson and Mason Prater, John Andrew Weatherley and Katy Anne Goodnight. A host of many family members and friends that know him affectionately as "Pa Leon" and who loved and cared for him will miss him dearly. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of the Greenbrier Nursing and Rehab Center and Carelink for their loving care of Pa Leon. Visitation will be Sunday, April 15, at 4-6 p.m. at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Ark. (501)327-7727. The funeral services will be held at the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 10 a.m. and officiated by Burt Wilkerson and Mickey Burelson. Graveside services and interment will be at Hawthicket Cemetery in Enola, Ark. Pallbearers will be Donnie Anthony, Mike Chance, Allen Chance, Travis Chance, Tim Chance and Jason Ingram, with honorary pallbearers, Tom Taylor, Steve Harral , Tyler Harral, Dickie Harris and Max Henry.
