Eugene Williams

Eugene Williams, age 92, of Malvern passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his home. He was born December 31, 1919, in Donaldson, the son of James and Nancy Evans Williams. Eugene served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Heywood in the South Pacific He retired from Reynolds Metal Company, Jones Mills Reduction Plant, as a diesel mechanic. He was a member and deacon of Ouachita Missionary Baptist Church and previously served as a deacon at Meadow View Missionary Baptist Church. Eugene enjoyed training bird dogs, quail hunting, gardening, and was an avid Razorback fan. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Russell Williams and sister, Irene Sandage. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, whom he married January 6, 1946, Wanda Smith Williams; son, Gary Williams (Phyllis) of Lafayette, Indiana; daughters, Lorraine Carroll (Bob) of Coppell, Texas and Lisa Lake (Mike) of Bryant; sisters, Martha James of Donaldson, Agee Sutton of Walnut Creek, California, Velma Sandage of Donaldson, and Mary Johnson of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Hollie Kessler (Eric), Andrew Williams (Amy), Hunter Lake, Trent Lake, Christine Carroll and Rebecca Carroll; great-great-grandchildren, Grace and Caroline Kessler, Lucas, Owen, Josie and Jackson Williams. Visitation will be Friday, November 30, from 6-8 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 1, at 2 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home with Brother Rickey Poynor and Brother Hollis McDermott officiating. Pallbearers will be Andrew Williams, Eric Kessler, Hunter Lake, Terry Williams, Jimmy James, and Ralph Sandage. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clifton Burroughs, Mike Walker, Gifford Worrell, and Kenneth Shinn. Interment will be at Ouachita Cemetery.
