Naomi E. Harlan

Naomi Eloise Harlan of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012. She was born in Moberly, Missouri. She attended Missouri State Teachers' College and The University of Missouri. She was an accomplished pianist and began playing in churches at age 7. She was a school teacher and homemaker. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Searcy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. George W. Harlan, and her grandson, Jon Warren Anderson. She leaves behind five children: Charles Harlan, Gary Harlan, Cheryl Goodman, Kevin Harlan, and Laurie Anderson; 13 grandchildren: Donna Irie, Eric Harlan, Gabriel Harlan, Kyle Harlan, Kelly Harlan, Emily Sowell, Jennifer Fales, Jeremy Goodman, Jeffery Harlan, Rebecca Woods, Sara Harlan, Candace Anderson, and Aaron Anderson; and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Searcy on Saturday, December 1, at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
