Howard Lee Potter

Howard Lee Potter of Edgemont passed away at his home December 2, 2012, at the age of 82 years. He was born January 3, 1930, in Higden to Jack and Bessie (Shelton) Potter. Howard followed bridge construction, was a delivery truck driver for Wilson Wholesale in Heber Springs, and went on to be a poultry and cattle farmer. He was secretary on the West Side School Board for 20 years. He was also a board member with the Arkansas Poultry Federation. Howard was a deacon and member of West Side First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Bradford and Maxine Hartwick; and a nephew, Wade Bradford. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vernita (Davis) Potter; one daughter, Sherry Nelson and her husband, Larry, of Edgemont; one grandson, Ryan Nelson of Edgemont; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at West Side First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Higden-McLehaney Cemetery. Arrangements: Olmstead Funeral Home. www.olmstead.cc
