"Buddy" Jesse Roy Johnston, 86, of Greenbrier, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012. He was born Dec. 12, 1925, in Vilonia, to Jesse Roy and Emma L. Johnston. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 64 years, Vivian Johnston. He was a bus driver for the city of Detroit for 30 years, a truck driver for Pine Bluff Arsenal, and a cab driver in Little Rock. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church for 29 years. He was also a member of the Greenbrier Senior Citizen's Center. He is survived by two sons, Stanley Johnston and wife Marianne of San Diego, Calif., and James Johnston and wife Lavonne of Greenbrier; one daughter, Susan McGhee and husband Bob of Commerce Township, Mich.; one sister, Juanita Coney of Greenbrier; three brothers, Richard Johnston and Jimmy Johnston of Greenbrier and Lindy Johnston of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 10, at Springhill Baptist Church, with Bro. Ed Stephenson officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from noon until 2 p.m. at the church. His nephews will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Odyssey Hospice of Little Rock. Arrangements are by Griffin Leggett Funeral Home in Conway.
