Lois Elizabeth Hass

Lois Elizabeth Robins Hass, age 96, passed away December 10, 2012. She was born September 14, 1916, in Roby, Texas, the third of five children raised by her parents, Ida Edith (Gosnell) and Charles Thomas Robins. They lived on farms in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas before settling in Foyil, OK in 1923. Lois graduated from Foyil High School , earning the American Legion Award. She earned the title of 4-H Canning Champion for Rogers County. She married Arthur Edward Hass on October 6, 1942, in Bartlesville, Okla. They retired to Hot Springs Village, Ark. in 1977. She was a founder of the Village Card Club, attaining Life Master Status in 1989. She was a member of the Village United Methodist Church and a founding member of Christ of the Hills Methodist Church. Family, flowers, angels, books, bridge, and bingo were all among her favorite things in life. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Art, three brothers, Murriel Robins, C.T. Robins Jr., and Richard Robins, and her sister, Ruth Robins Barfoot. She is survived by her children, Arthur Edward Hass, Jr. (Karen) of Reston, Va., Joy Hass Stefan (Bob) of Hot Springs Village, Ark., four granddaughters: Michelle Blanton (Brett) of McLean, Va., Melissa Sheehan (Robert) of Oak Hill, Va., Joanna Perkins (Adam) of Portland, Ore., and Kendra Corbett (Jon) of Berwyn, Pa., seven great-grandchildren: Alexis, Reilly, and Kiran Blanton, Caiden and Keillor Sheehan, Jackson and Hayley Corbett. Funeral services will be Friday, December 14, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church with Dr. Walter Smith officiating. Visitation is from noon to 1 p.m. at the church with burial at CedarVale Cemetery in Hot Springs Village following services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ of the Hills Methodist Church, the Village Card Club, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
