George Woods

Rev. George C. Woods, of Sherwood passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012. He was an Assemblies of God minister of Sherwood, who was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lois Virginia Woods. Rev. Woods pastored the following churches in Arkansas: Miligan Ridge Assembly of God, Manila; Antioch Assembly of God, Donaldson; Oak Grove Assembly of God, Malvern; First Assembly of God, Arkadelphia; First Assembly of God, Cabot; First Assembly of God, Heber Springs; Oak Grove Assembly of God, Malvern [second time]; First Assembly of God, Gurdon; Glad Tidings Assembly of God, North Little Rock; Rose City Assembly of God, North Little Rock and Crystal Hill Assembly of God, North Little Rock. Survivors include a son Clinton Woods [Denease] of Harrison, Ark.; a daughter Brenda Zermatten [Martin] of North Little Rock; a sister Virginia Hale of Plumas Lake, Calif.; two sisters-in-law Joe Ann Taylor of Bakersfield, Calif. and Dorothy Sims of Visalia, Calif; three grandchildren Tonia Horn [Kevin] and Shelton Zermatten [Erica] of Sherwood, Ark. and Melissa Barnard [Scott] of Harrison and seven great-grandchildren Christopher, Hunter and Brady Barnard of Harrison; Katheryn and Emily Horn and Brooke and Peyton Zermatten of Sherwood; and a very special friend Willodean Sullivan of North Little Rock. Memorials may be made to the 100 by 100 Missions Outreach at First Assembly of God, 4501 Burrow Drive, North Little Rock. 72116. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Burial will be in Rest Hill Memorial Park.
