Lorene Dykes Brandon

Lorene Dykes Brandon, 91, of Kingsland, died December 17, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was born December 16, 1921 in Kingsland, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church in Kingsland. She is preceded in death by her parents, William "Will" Dykes and Ludie West Dykes; husband, Johnnie Brandon; brothers, Charles Dykes, James "J.W." Dykes, Odis Dykes and Sanford Dykes; two sisters, Grace Stell and Kathryn Franklin; two grandsons, Staff Sergeant Stacey C. Brandon, "Iraq" and Johnny Brandon; granddaughter, Tennia Nutt. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Barbara Brandon of Jonesboro, George and Nan Brandon of Kingsland, Glen and Shelby Brandon of Kingsland; one daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Glenn Lane of Ponca City, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Lisa Benton, Gina Roberts and Todd Brandon all of Jonesboro, Jeff Brandon of Houston, Texas, Robin Noles of Pine Bluff, Lora Rice of North Little Rock, Steve Nutt of Austin, and Amy Hamel of Owasso, Okla.; sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday 6 p.m.until 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Bolin, Rev. Paul Rice and Rev. Jonathan Mertens officiating. Burial will follow at Kingsland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church Music Fund.
