Bruce Wygal, 84, of Pine Bluff, peacefully went to meet the Lord from his home Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Born September 10, 1928, in Salem, Virginia, he was one of ten children of the late James Henry and Verna Lowe Wygal. He was reared and received his early education in Salem. He was a 1946 graduate of Andrew Lewis High School. In 1957, he received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech. He was employed by International Paper for over thirty years. Mr. Wygal worked as a Supervisor of Stock Preparation as well as the Superintendent of Environmental Services. His duties required him to do extensive traveling for International Paper. In 1969, he moved with the company to Pine Bluff, where he worked until his retirement in 1985. Mr. Wygal was a member of Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church and the International Paper Supervisors Club. He was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He was a family man and enjoyed his time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Verna Wygal; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank Herbert and Mary Ola Davis; his brothers, Fred Wygal, Verlin Wygal, Robert Wygal and an infant brother; his sisters, Kathleen Francisco, Ellen Rutherford, Lorene Hull, Minnie Shawver and Jane Slayton; and one great-granddaughter, Ayla Rose Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Peggy Davis Wygal, of Pine Bluff; his children, Brian Keith Wygal, and wife, Mary Jane, of Conway, John Robert Wygal, and wife, Tina, of Star City, Bridget Anne White, and husband, David, of Mt. Ida, Ellen Ruth Moore, and husband, Harold, of Pine Bluff, Stacy Lee Grimes, and husband, Michael, of Cabot, and Kirk Steven Wygal, and wife, Christy, of Little Rock; his seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Fran Wygal, of Salem, Virginia and numerous nieces, nephews and family members. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2012, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Reverend Chuck Coffelt officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. until service time on Friday at Robinson's. Friends may sign the online register at www.ralphrobinsonandson.com.
